A look inside the "Havasu"
In the Harvey Houses, women were allowed to work at the Harvey houses during a time when they didn't have work opportunities. It allowed tourists to stop and rest for a night and then continue for their trip the next day.

What happened to the "Havasu"
Due to the creation of I-40, the "havasu" lost business and eventually shut down. The picture above shows the demolition of the hotel kn 2008.
